Corporate Holiday Party at ACL Live

SPREADING HOLIDAY CHEER!
In the midst of holiday season, between Christmas shopping, family vacations and end of the year to-do’s, we can’t forget the infamous Company Holiday Party. Everyone looks forward to the time spent mingling with coworkers and maybe even having a cocktail with your boss! It’s all about enjoying a moment without work! We love helping our clients create a fun holiday gathering to celebrate their company’s success and praise the employees who make it all happen.

This year we produced a holiday party at ACL Live at the Moody Theater for one of our favorite clients, Cirrus Logic. We created a beautiful pallet with a mix of greens, blues, purples and peacock feather hues for an extra pop. The Concert Floor was turned into a lounge area with specialty lighting accompanied by illuminated tallboy tables topped with colored ornaments. One of our favorite décor pieces, hands down, is the custom created, over-sized ceiling accent ball fashioned solely of peacock feathers. Custom gobos with peacock feather designs were used to cast the patterns on the walls and floor for the final touch.

Guests not only enjoyed food and cocktails catered by the W hotel, but the one-and-only SPAZMATICS took the stage for some evening entertainment. All in all- this event was one of our favorites to put together.

“I’ve never seen ACL look more beautiful than it did that night!” said the Private Events Sales Lead at the ACL Live.

We loved putting a twist on the average holiday party and included pictures below that will hopefully give you some inspiration for your next event!

Austin’s 10 Most Eligible Bachelors of 2011

Austin Monthly-August Release Party
Presenting: Austin’s 10 Most Eligible Bachelors of 2011

Where can you find 10 eligible bachelors, an assortment of treats, snacks, complimentary cocktails, beautiful men and women, and great music all under one roof? That’s right – Austin Monthly Magazine’s Release Party. If you missed the celebration, don’t worry, just read below for all the juicy details!

With their August Bachelor Issue and the Home Issue release happening simultaneously, Austin Monthly Magazine reached out to us for some extra hands to put together an amazing event. We were thrilled to work alongside and coordinate their annual tradition. The Kennedy team collaborated with a great venue, delicious food sponsors and brought in beautiful décor pieces. The venue host for the event, Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, offered a unique twist. In the space, we created a relaxed, inviting atmosphere with lounge areas for guests to sit back and enjoy the party. The lighting produced a distinct ambiance and the lone red carpet runway leading to the main stage topped it all off. We had the bachelor’s strut down the red carpet for introductions. After all- they are the most eligible guys in town-we didn’t want the ladies to miss their chance! We truly enjoyed this event and hearing all the great things these Bachelors are doing here in Austin, Texas.

Special thanks to all involved: J Black’s, Z Tejas, Kerby Lane, Tiff’s Treats, Lick it Bite it or Both Cupcakes, Catering by Rosemary’s, Bob Bullock Texas State Museum, Grey Goose, Ilios Lighting and Altared Productions.

Check out the video recap of the event below, produced by our great friends, Altared Wedding Productions.

A Pink Tie Affair

Kennedy Creative recently teamed up with Scott and White Hospital for their first Pink Tie Gala, benefiting the Breast Cancer Resource Center. Held at the Round Rock hospital location, the Kennedy Creative team transformed the hospital’s cafeteria and Healing Garden into an elegant pink oasis. Gorgeous blush florals were provided from Jennifer’s Gardens and lighting from Ilios highlighted the interior of the building with a soft pink glow. The exterior also basked in rose light, including the impressive outdoor fountain. Tasteful light pink ribbon draped the trees in the garden as well as the surrounding parking lot. Scott & White’s own staff chef provided a delicious meal served at dining tables decked out in luscious flamingo taffeta linens while the guests enjoyed bidding on items in a generous silent auction to help raise money for the cause.

Our New Home!

We have so much fun working with our customers, brides and non-profit organizations, we’ve decided to add more space for us to design, create and bring even more innovative decor and furniture to the party. See today’s news below about our move to a new headquarters in South Austin. We look forward to seeing you at the new location!

Austin Event Experts, Kennedy Creative, Expand to New Office

New space to accommodate growth, non-profit work and design workshops

Kennedy Creative, a leading DMC, wedding and event production company, announced today that it has moved its corporate headquarters to a new space in South Austin. The decision to move to a location that doubles the size of the current office was made to accommodate growth of Kennedy Creative’s décor and furniture business along with its nationwide corporate and non-profit event management and recently launched Destinations by Kennedy (DMC) & Weddings by Kennedy.

The new location includes space for local workshops and design activities, with a specific focus on providing a place to brainstorm and create for the various Austin non-profit organizations that Kennedy Creative supports, such as Leadership Austin and LifeWorks.

“We’ve loved working with Kennedy Creative on our annual signature fundraising event, Best Party Ever. The team is sharp, creative and very generous of their time,” said Hannah Nokes, Vice President of Development and Marketing for non-profit Leadership Austin. “We look forward to participating in the creative process at the new Kennedy Creative offices.”

Located  at 5810 Trade Center Drive, the new headquarters includes over 6,000 square feet to house the Kennedy Creative offices, storage space for event design elements available for rent and a showroom area. The showroom will feature event color and design trends as well as function as a creative space where visitors can experiment with different design elements and tools to create anything from centerpieces to entire room designs.

“At Kennedy Creative, we put a lot of effort into really getting to know our clients so we can design events that match their personality and style,” said Natalie Kennedy, founder of Kennedy Creative. “Most people would think the recent economy would take its toll on the event business, but we’ve experienced quite the opposite. We’ve been eager to find a spot that will allow us to be more interactive and hands on with our clients in the office.”

Kennedy Creative will also begin providing various workshops at the new location, for event planners, brides to be or anyone interested in learning about the different aspects of event planning and design. These workshops will cover anything from creating a flower arrangement to developing a checklist to pull off an event without a hitch. The workshops will be led by experts from the Kennedy Creative team and include guest speakers and presenters from the industry.

“Sometimes brides and planners aren’t looking to hire a company to take care of every detail, they just need a little guidance along the way,” continued Kennedy. “Our workshops will provide people with best practices and specific tactics to help build their dream wedding or event.”

The Kennedy team moved into the new location on September first and plan to open the space to visitors sometime in October.

Texas Hold ‘Em: Harley Davidson Style

Kennedy Creative was honored to produce a fabulous event for the Harley Davidson Owners Group Annual Meeting at the unique and beautiful Horseshoe Bay Marriott.  This group was full of energy and one of the most enjoyable groups we have had the opportunity to work with, incredibly down to earth and ready to have a good time!  After all, they live by the mantra, “It’s a journey, not a destination” which just sparks that wonderful energy we love in a client.

There were officers from HOG (Harley Davidson Owner’s Group) Chapters from all over the world – Singapore, The Kingdom of Jordan, Hong Kong, Germany, Britain, and even Dubai.  You name it, the country was represented amongst the 200 attendees.

Kennedy Creative produced a fantastic Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament with 8 tables of players, concluding with the winner of each table going to the final round.  A gentleman from Hong Kong, who had never played  Texas Hold ‘Em before was the Grand Champion.  How about that for beginner’s luck!

You know you have had a fabulous event when guests are standing on chairs, whooping and hollering to  get a view of the final round.  Now THAT is what we call a good time!

Merry Christmas!

Inspiration: NEAWP and Colin Cowie

The Kennedy Creative team attended a recent Nuptial Essentials Association of Wedding Professionals (NEAWP) convention where Colin Cowie was the keynote speaker. It was so great to have the opportunity to meet Colin Cowie and hear the stories about his career and events.

He told the crowd about his favorite three weddings of this year, one being Alyssa Milano’s glamorous nuptials. We were able to see pictures of quite a few of Colin Cowie’s multi-million dollar weddings and, as you can imagine, we were in wedding heaven. Our favorite part of the event was the open question and answer session with Colin.  The audience was given an opportunity to ask questions and Colin candidly answered.

It was during the Q & A that we all learned how he got his start in the celebrity events business and his unfortunate mishap with a destroyed cake on his very first wedding.
